About John B. Maurer

John Maurer is a designer who has been in business since 1969 and who has specialized in creating
comfortable homes in a traditional style, as well as traditionally inspired with a clean, modern edge.

His projects include urban residences and country houses, often in New York City and Litchfield County, CT. Clients range from homemakers to prominent names from the business, theatrical, and restaurant worlds. Mr. Maurer’s work is also seen in name hotels of New York, Connecticut, California and Florida, as well as restaurants, executive offices, showrooms and other institutions.

Mr. Maurer has designed, built and rebuilt eight homes for himself in Connecticut. He is a graduate of the Parsons School of Design and a member of the American Society of Interior Designs. He was recognized by Town & Country Magazine as one of America’s top designers and has been published in numerous other magazines and coffee table books.
